Office Manager
Dana oversees the wholesale side of the business, coordinating with the pricing team, organizing global shipments and deliveries, updating product information, and managing all administrative aspects of international trade. Her extensive international experience aligns with her love for global cuisine, and you’ll often find her enjoying sushi, with an extra helping of wasabi, during lunch breaks at our office in Westminster, central London.
Michael Woodhead
Head of Tech
Michael is responsible for our entire IT infrastructure, including data management, payment gateways, website integrations, online marketing, and the day-to-day management of the website. With over 25 years of experience and having been with Artisan since its inception, Michael is the mastermind behind the successful launch of the Artisan Furniture brand. In his free time, he enjoys playing football on weekends and exploring the latest tech innovations.
James Benstead
General Manager
James brings over 30 years of experience in stock control, analysis, and buying to the team. He ensures that stock is ordered and delivered to the UK on time by maintaining strong relationships with our suppliers in India, China, and Vietnam. Outside of work, James volunteers with St John Ambulance, reflecting his compassionate approach to his professional interactions.
Owen Stephens
Officer
Owen manages the dropship side of the business, handling order allocations, tracking deliveries, and performing various administrative tasks at our Westminster office. He also coordinates with our team in Jaipur and is well-loved by our Indian colleagues for his updates on English weather, cuisine, and football results.
Sue Basu
Head – India Operations
Sue, part of the husband-and-wife team behind Artisan Furniture, manages the company’s operations in India. Her role involves communicating with artisan suppliers, resolving logistical issues, and sourcing new products from Jaipur and northern India. When not working, Sue enjoys watching K-dramas and is learning Korean.
Joy Dutt
General Manager – Factory
Joy oversees our furniture production at the Jaipur factory, from woodcarving to packaging, quality control, and color processes. A fan of Indian soap operas, Joy works directly from our factory in Rajasthan, sneaking in episodes of his favorite shows during breaks.
Devraj Chowdhary
Chief Artisan Officer
Devraj leads our product development team, works on new construction techniques, creates furniture prototypes, and photographs the final products. He collaborates closely with artisans to meet their needs and discover new talents. Having joined Artisan Furniture as an 18-year-old from Barmer, Devraj has risen to lead our artisan operations and support the crafts of his hometown.
Anu Jain
General Manager
Anu manages administration at our Jaipur office and is our pricing expert, responsible for the overall pricing of products and services. With over a decade at Artisan, her friendly yet firm approach is highly valued in both Jaipur and London.
Surbhi Gupta
Head – Exports
Surbhi leads our export operations, handling the procurement of accessories, export documentation, and licensing. She also manages new product logging and corporate account pricing. Recently rejoining Artisan after a few years, Surbhi is a fan of Netflix drama thrillers, which might reflect in her email correspondences.
Jack Basu
Community & Content
Jack is responsible for our sustainability operations and liaises with the artisan community to make sure we’re doing all we can for that critical part of our supply ecosystem. He also leads on B-Corp assessments, our Net Zero 2030 goal through the Science Based Target Initiative as well as our broader ESG commitments. He’s also increasingly responsible for our EU operations. Beyond the office, he loves to cook French food, read literary and science fiction and go to the theatre when it’s cool and the cricket when it’s not.
