Sustainable Furniture Packaging – Canada

We regularly examine our packaging to ensure it complies with industry best practices. We’re also committed to reducing plastic packaging wherever possible.

Interlocks

Interlocks are installed on doors and drawers, with protective measures for handles if necessary.

Product Wrapping

Thick kraft paper is used to wrap the product.

High-Density Corners

As part of our drop test program, high-density corners are added to every edge of the product to provide an additional layer of safety and structural integrity.

Thermocol Corners

Thermocol corners are utilized, with an added layer of corrugated sheet on top for extra protection.

Additional Thermocol Blocks

Additional thermocol blocks are placed around the edges of the product at intervals of 10-12 inches. For further protection, another thermocol block is placed on top of the product.

Strong Cardboard

Each edge of the product is wrapped in strong cardboard, which helps maintain the packaging structure and protects the product’s edges.

Drop Test

To ensure the product is mail order compliant, a drop test is conducted.

Secure Interlocking

In the event of a drop during transit, the product is placed on a platform and securely interlocked to ensure that the impact affects the empty box (acting as a platform) first.

Fragile Items

Mirror frames, bone inlay products, and other fragile items are packed in double boxes (inner and outer boxes). Additional Thermocol is used on fragile areas like mirrors or glass.

Box

The product is then taped, strapped, and labeled before being placed in a sturdy 7-ply corrugated box.

Higher Weight

Products with a higher weight are placed in boxes with higher density for added durability.

Hardware for Soft Assembling

All soft assembly hardware is packed in a small plastic bag and encased in Styrofoam to prevent damage to the product. A red ribbon is attached for easy identification.

Knock-Down Products

For knock-down products, the legs are individually wrapped in thick kraft paper, with Styrofoam applied to the feet. They are then placed in a separate box that accompanies the product.
